It is a place in Uttar Pradesh where Ganges takes its flow.
Place considered as holy by Hindus and many used to visit to do the final
rights of people.
It was a long pending location for visit and we decided to
visit this place on 8th April 2017.
3 cars made ready with our family, Sridhar family, Usha
family, Bama family and Ranjani.
Garhmukteshwar is on NH 24 between Delhi & Lucknow and
is about 125 Km from Vikaspuri
We took the route Pitampura – Civil Line – Shadara –
Ghaziabad – Hapur Road – Garhmukteshwar.
Once you cross the toll after Hapur road, you have to go for
about 3 KM and take service lane on right before Ganges bridge start.
NH roads are fine and you will have traffic upto Ghaziabad
only.
Facilities are available to take bath in the middle of
river. We can hire boat (we paid Rs 600 for 15 people) and they will drop you
in the middle for taking bath. Water flow is normal. Facility to change dress
also available and small Tea shops are available to have Tea/Coffee and snacks.
It took about 4 hours for us to cover the sidtance at normal
speed and break for Tea / Meals.
Good place to visit and have bath.
