The document says:

Ø  We are the generation who had control on our posting in Facebook and WhatsApp
Ø  We only enjoyed taking selfie and posting it immediately for others to like it
Ø  We met our parent daily in our house and speak to them too
Ø  We are happy to move around our home and can play anywhere inside our 2/3 BHK home
Ø  We are the people enjoyed taking bath in water everyday
Ø  We had so many different kinds of dress and make-ups to make/show ourself as beauty
Ø  We have the freedom to see TV and listening music anytime, even while going on road, travelling in train etc
Ø  We were the only people who had freedom to eat junk food and to have carbonated drinks while with friends
Ø  During our period only Cricket was in full swing and everyone talk about it
Ø  We are the generation, after going to school, went to tuition classes also every day.
Ø  If you agree and you also enjoyed all these, acknowledge the same..

Face book and WhatsApp will be replaced with MindDoc where your thinking will be uploaded directly and others can read it. Government only will have control over this

My thinking.. what could be a post in 2040 by a person who born in between 1990-2000

Quality Work

My chappal had a small problem and went to a cobbler to make it corrected. He was attending another customer and I waited for some time.  During that period I just had a look around his shop.

It was on the pavement for about 4’ * 6’ area covered with some plastic paper over his head as roof with support of sticks taken from different trees. He kept 2 iron boxes, neatly covered with 2 layers of plastic papers to avoid rainy water falling on it. He sits in between these boxes. At the back of him he tied a rope and used it for hanging shoe laces. All laces were hanged neatly, at equal distant & height, colours together. By the side of him, he arranged all the apparatus required by him, in good order, big size to small.  He was having different shaded colour threads for stitching. On his right he kept different colour polish boxes. I could find a bag nearby him containing waste leathers.

While he was repairing the chappal of other person, he needs a piece of leather and he searched for it from the bag for some time. He doesn’t want to use the one he got at first instant but took time to locate waste leather that matches the same colour of his chapel. He cut a portion from it for his use and kept the remaining (a very small piece only) back in the bag safely for future use.

After repairing, he checked it twice before showing it to the owner.  He asked the owner to wear it and get it checked for his comfort.  Once the owner was satisfied, he asked to give it back and cleaned it by brushing it and finally gave back to the owner. Once the work is over, he kept everything in its places and cleaned the place to take new job.

He did not charge huge money for his work and was satisfied with what he got.

By his appearance and nature of work, he may not be a degree holder or person from IIT but the way he run his business shows he is a six sigma black belt holder. Many big companies are spending lot of money on their employee, who are degree holder, for training them on customer relation & customer care but this person simply proved it what it is, without attending such training. Corporate companies seriously can think to send their employee for training to such people.

He wants to maintain good customer relationship more than his profit (poor fellow struggles to get money for his daily livelihood). We have to learn a lot from such people.

Even though I cannot do more than paying some extra money to him for his attitude, I can pray God to give him & his family a happy and healthy life

Traffic around School

Now-a-days finding heavy traffic near schools.  In our area, roads are like a square and the circumference may be about 600 to 700 meters.  There are 2 schools here (One is INTERNATIONAL school) and crossing in morning hours (0715 to 0800 hrs) is a nightmare. The roads are totally jammed by vehicle used by parent and taxis. Most of them are using their SUVs to drop their ward even if the distance from home to school is only 500 meters or so. Everyone become unrest once they let their child in front of school and try to move further banging horn and scolding everyone.

Reasons and how can control

Roads are narrow (even though it is 4 lane road, 2 lanes are used for parking) –
Avoid such parking near school
Using Cars (many are SUVs) to drop even on normal days
Try not to use big cars
People try to take U-turn immediately after dropping ward
Should move only in one direction
Though there is an attendant (may be mother of ward) apart from driver, not allowing child to get down from car even though their car stands just 2 cars behind the car that is standing in front of school gate & waiting for their turn to stop the car just in front of gate (Doesn’t mind how much delay he is causing)

Can attendant take ward to drop at gate during waiting time.

Beware of Departmental Stores

Yesterday went to a nearby “Easyday”, a departmental store.  It was written they are running a discounted sale and part of that will give Gift voucher worth Rs. 50 for every Rs 500 (10%) purchase which can be redeemed in next purchase. How they are offering this?  Read….

Took some of our requirements (about 15 items) and gave it for billing. He was quite fast in scanning the bar code for billing, touching the touch-screen of the billing computer. In between he was offering to buy onion also which is only Rs. 10 per Kg.  I declined it but something spotted in my mind. Is it not the same something what in petrol bunks happening (The person will divert your attention while filling petrol and stop it before your requirement & reset the meter OR will start filling without resetting earlier filled meter reading)

The person in the cash counter said bill amount was Rs.2060 which I felt is on higher side.  I asked him to tell the cost of a particular item by taking it and reading the MRP.  The MRP on the item was 415 but was billed as 485.  I asked for one more item in which MRP was 455 but was billed 525.

When I pointed this he said some time mistake may happen in the system and he corrected for the said items.  I asked him to re-bill everything now holding one by one and seeing MRP.  Total bill came to Rs 1510 !!! There was an increased billing of Rs 550 which is 36% on the purchase cost MRP. This is nothing to do with buying cost or over heads etc the shop incurred which is taken care in MRP.  I made this as a point and everyone in the counter started billing one by one. When I presented some acceptable vouchers and credit card, he refused to take and it was clear he want to avoid me.  I returned without buying anything.

Lesson for everyone

  • Don’t think all departmental stores will work correctly and honestly
  • Don’t be under the impression that if billing is done using bar code reader, it will be correct. (Second time I noticed that bar code reads something and cash counter person corrects it manually)
  • There is enough space in the billing system to modify anything and everything.
  • Be careful if the cash counter person starts modifying something after reading through bar code reader, check twice about that item
  • Never allow people to divert your attention while billing.
  • Before leaving the shop, once verify items Vs MRP written Vs billing amount.
  • Check whether no additional items were billed which you did not buy. (It is easy for them to include some items in between your bill especially during busy hours and during bulk buying)
  • Some of the departmental stores even don’t print item name but only code so that it will be difficult for you to verify

Rio Olympiad 2016

Watched the opening ceremony of Rio Olympiad today early morning. What a proud in the faces of people of Brazil for conducting this mega function in a grand manner.  Equally I could see the faces of participants. How many countries – smaller and bigger than our India….Countries like Nauru (Total area is only 21 Sq KM) sent good number of participants with the hope of bagging medals.

Felt little bit frustrated – Why my country and I should feel proud to host such a mega event here?  Are we not capable to handle? We never in the fray of competition to host.  Countries equal to one of our states already hosted it successfully. We are still talking of Religion, Caste, Language, State, Party etc etc and not came out of such politics. When are we going to be seen by other country people based on our sport caliber? When they are going to afraid of our sport skills?

Once we conducted CWG with lot of controversy. When are we going to change ourself and recognize & develop real sport talent to take our country to have a slot in the top of medal tally?

Will it happen in my life time?

What I read

It was told since long that if anyone kills a cobra, it has to be set into fire with respect. This is criticized by many people as a wrong belief (superstition). The actual reason is something else.

The poison within the teeth of cobra will reside as such even if the body of the cobra decompose and by accident if someone happens to be in touch with that teeth, poison can go inside the human body and will react. In order to overcome this, they asked to set the body of the cobra into fire so that the poison inside the teeth will burn and human can be safe

Roaming

Recently I traveled to South India and carried a phone which is having National Roaming facility of a big operator in India who claims they are having network in every nook and corner.

I traveled about 250 KM south of Chennai and the network started going off very frequently and I could not make or receive calls as well could not use data service.  I tried to latch myself with some other operator’s network but was not allowed !!

When I got signal, I called Customer Care of that operator and tried to lodge a complaint.  To my first surprise, the CC executive asked a question, how I speak to him if I face a network issue? A though provoking question.  It took 5 min for me to make him understand the issue I am facing frequently.  A ticket was opened and I was informed it will take 72 hours to resolve my issue… 2 days passed with the same network issue and I returned back to Chennai without any solution.

As promised by CC, I received a call from the technical team of the operator after 72 hours without fail. He asked me about the issue and again I explained him the same. To my second surprise, the technical EXPERT asked me to switch off and switch on the mobile to check the availability of signal !!! Also he suggested checking whether I turned on the mobile data on Roaming or not. (I can’t understand if it is OFF how I will get data service and it will go off frequently and come again on its own)

When I informed that I came back to Chennai, to my third surprise, he asked me to go back to the location where I had the problem for him to check !!! What an EXPERT people are employed ? I told him that I was about 250 KM away and it will take about 6 to 7 hours for me to reach that place, he coolly asked me to go and book a compliant again if there is issue so that he will call me back after 72 hours!!!!

When I informed it is not possible for me to go there again, he told that my complaint cannot be attended and going to close it.

Along with booking the complaint with CC, I sent a mail also to that CC centre and as a response I got a mail after 6 days.  To my next surprise, the reply was not related to my compliant but a reply to a billing compliant of some other customer.

When I pointed out this in reply mail, quickly next day I got a reply that EVERY thing is OK from their side and network issue is only because of my faulty handset !!!

As not able to digest more and more surprises and EXPERT analysis, I stopped communicating with them. They made me not to talk to them again.
